I recently had a spare Kubota key cut and programmed for my tractor, and it turned out to be simpler than I expected. The locksmith just needed the original key or the ignition code to duplicate the physical shape, then used a handheld programmer to sync the transponder chip. Took about twenty minutes and saved me from being stranded if I ever lose the main key. Makes sense to have a backup for farm equipment.
